BREEDING BABY SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH/ BETTA FISH! SIX STEPS!

Welcome to your Betta fish /Siamese fighting fish information blog! Free information about betta fish /siamese fighting fish and much more! Your home and pet home!

STEP 6.

A very exciting period will happen over the next two days or so.

Your male Siamese fighting fish/ Betta fish will keep the eggs cleaned and see to it that the eggs stay in the nest.
He will recover any eggs that fall out and place them back in the nest.
Then you will see the babies!

About two days after they hatch the first babies or ‘fry’ as they are known, will begin to swim without help.

OK, so now is the time to remove your male Siamese fighting fish/ Betta fish otherwise he will start to eat the babies.

When the babies hatch you will also need to feed them. Micro worms, baby brine shrimp or daphnia are a good choice, but you will have to feed them up to five times a day.

In ten days or so you can feed them a little powdered food, which is a small amount of finely crushed flake food.

At four weeks you should be able to tell males from females. You now have to separate the males from each other to avoid them fighting!

Females can be kept together!

Good luck!

I will be reviewing an excellent e-book on breeding Siamese fighting fish/ Betta fish, so be on the lookout for that.

BREEDING BABY SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH/ BETTA FISH! SIX STEPS!

STEP 5

The crucial time has arrived. You must now place your female Siamese fighting fish /betta fish in the water with the male. Tense moments! There may be some rough treatment, maybe some fin nipping or even worse.

If you see it gets too rough then you must remove your female and wait for a few days, letting her recover.

When you see the male caressing the female with his fins and forcefully wrapping his tail around her body, then you should have success.

Your female Siamese fighting fish/ betta fish should then produce eggs under the bubble nest.

The male will then fertilize them and begin to take care of the eggs.

This is the time to remove your female otherwise she can become food for the male. She has done her job.

Click on ‘breeding information’. Below.

BREEDING BABY SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH/BETTA FISH! SIX STEPS!

STEP 4.

This is the time when you must observe what your Siamese fighting fish/betta fish are doing. They must seem to have recognized each other, and the male will make gestures while flashing his long fins around.

You should see the male’s tail making strong waving motions towards the female.

Your male Siamese fighting fish/betta fish should also start to create a bubble nest.

While doing all of this you must also feed your fish with high quality food.

There are different recommendations, some use freeze dried blood worms, some live or frozen brine shrimp, and others use tubifex worms and so on. Remember not to overfeed.

Now, after having the high quality food, your female Siamese fighting fish/ betta fish should sort of plump up as eggs are produced. She will now be ready.

BREEDING BABY SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH/ BETTA FISH! SIX STEPS!

Breeding betta fish/ Siamese fighting fish can be a very wonderful experience.

STEP 3

Having the right conditions in your fish tank is very important.

You can use purified water in your fish tank, but not tap water, as this contains minerals that can be harmful to your fish.

You can add an extremely small amount of aquarium salt, which helps to ward off disease and reduce stress without causing harm to your Siamese fighting fish/ betta fish.

Your fish tank temperature should be kept at around 82 degrees F or 26c and the PH around 7. The mating tank should contain about ten gallons.

You do not have to add much decorations or gravel, but you will need to have some large leafed aquarium live plants. See my blog on http://aquariumliveplants.blogspot.com/ The plants will provide a hiding place for your Siamese fighting fish/ betta fish female.

BREEDING BABY SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH/ BETTA FISH! SIX STEPS!

STEP 2

A difficulty which you may have right from the start is to find a female Siamese fighting fish/ betta fish. Not too many pet stores sell them.

When you do find one your next job is to obtain the right fish tank.

You do not want one of those fish bowl aquariums. Try and get a long rectangular fish tank that is designed for breeding Siamese fighting fish/betta fish.

I have been told that these fish tanks contain a slit down the middle which will separate the female from the male before they can start breeding.

Male Siamese fighting fish/ betta fish are very territorial and aggressive, so you must separate them in the beginning.

Do not place them in the same tank together.

Try and buy your fish that seem to have some energy. This will increase their chances of spawning. Tell your pet store owner or salesperson that you are hoping to breed and that you want your fish that are between seven and eighteen months old.

Welcome to Siamese fighting fish world. Siamese fighting fish/Betta fish owners can obtain free information to help with breeding Betta fish babies.

STEP 1

I have had some people ask me ‘how do I go about breeding with my Siamese fighting fish/betta fish’?

I have not tried this myself yet, but I have garnered a fair bit of information from different sources on how to go about breeding Siamese fighting fish/betta fish.

First and foremost you have to know the difference between a male and a female Siamese fighting fish/betta fish.

The male will have long and colorful fins, whereby the females are a bit more bland and their fins are much shorter. The females are also chubbier and shorter than the male.

Siamese fighting fish/ Betta fish/ Illness! What do you do?

Welcome to the world of the Siamese Fighting Fish. Free tips about keeping Siamese fighting fish. Lots of Siamese fighting fish news and much much more on Siamese fighting fish, your Home and family pet’s home.

Your Siamese fighting fish/ Betta fish should be very healthy and give you no trouble but lots of enjoyment. However, if they become ill then you must check and test your fish tank water first and foremost.

Water quality is the most important factor in having a healthy Siamese fighting fish/ Betta fish.

You must test the temperature, ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate ingredients in your fish tank water regularly.

All the medicine in the world will not help if you have bad water.

Most problems in water have no color, smell or texture. You have to test it.

Changing your fish tank water every 4, 5, or 7 days should ensure the quality.

There are natural anti- bacterial remedies such as Melafix and others, as well as Pimafix for fungus. These can be used if your fish is ill, but have your fish tank water tested first.

A good idea is to have a separate hospital tank where you can place your ill Siamese fighting fish/ Betta fish until he recovers.

Betta Imbellis The Peaceful betta!

Welcome to the world of the Siamese Fighting Fish. Free tips about keeping Siamese fighting fish. Lots of Siamese fighting fish news and much much more on Siamese fighting fish, your Home and family pet’s home.

The betta imbellis is a much more docile fish than your Siamese fighting fish and maybe a great alternative for those looking to have a community aquarium.

The peaceful betta though, is not as spectacular looking as your Siamese fighting fish.

In the wild the peaceful betta inhabit densely grown waters, so if you decide to keep some of these fish you must provide them with plenty of hiding places, by decorating your aquarium with lots of plants. Click on this link for info on the different plants.
http://aquariumliveplants.blogspot.com/

Remember, if your betta imbellis has no hiding places they will become extremely stressed!

Siamese fighting fish= ‘Ikan Betta’

Welcome to the world of the Siamese Fighting Fish. Free tips about keeping Siamese fighting fish. Lots of Siamese fighting fish news and much much more on Siamese fighting fish, your Home and family pet’s home.

What’s in a name? Well, ‘BETTA’, the word, comes from a local Siamese name for Siamese fighting fish. The contemporary Thai name for this fish is ‘Pla-kad’.

Those of you who do not want an aggressive Siamese fighting fish and would like an alternative could consider the ‘Betta imbellis’ or ‘peaceful betta’.

This ‘peaceful betta’ is native to Malaysia and can grow to a maximum size of 8cms. or 3inches.

When you compare the ‘peaceful betta’ to the Siamese fighting fish, it is much more docile and will do well in a community fish tank with other tranquil and non aggressive species.

Most desirable color for your Siamese fighting fish /Betta fish!

Welcome to the world of the Siamese Fighting Fish. Free tips about keeping Siamese fighting fish. Lots of Siamese fighting fish news and much much more on Siamese fighting fish, your Home and family pet’s home.

One of the most desirable colors to breed for your Siamese fighting fish/ Betta fish is the ‘Black/ Melano!!

It is one of the hardest to find in its purist form.

The whole body and fins are ‘midnight black’ and look very beautiful!

The males are very fertile, but the females have a fertility problem.

If you cross a ‘melano’ male to a ‘steel blue’ female you will get a ‘black’ Siamese fighting fish/ Betta fish.

The chances of obtaining or raising a fertile ‘true’ ‘melano’ female are astronomical! This can also be very profitable and make you a lot of money!

There are many other combinations of colors.
